2021
Join us for a Family day of fun, adventure and nature connection.
Learn survival techniques such as lighting fire with flint and steel, fire by friction (rubbing sticks), shelter making, rope work, navigation, bush craft, animal tracking, the art of camouflage and nature awareness.
What we do during the workshop.
A day of fun, adventure and discovering new skills for the whole family. Enhance your knowledge, confidence and connection to nature.
This is an adventure based workshop.
Starting at the Homestead at 3 Wishes Farm we cross the Tweed River and head into the bush. Along the way we discuss the basics of wilderness survival and safety in the Australian Bush, we play a variety of Nature Awareness games and identify edible plants and useful resources.
We then head to our Bush Camp where you will learn a variety of fire lighting techniques, including flint and steel, fire by friction (rubbing sticks) and build a basic survival shelter.
Our workshops for Families and Kids are child/interest led so the content may vary. Depending on interest/time we practice skills such as ropework, tracking, navigation, primitive skills and bush craft.
