Course Style

This is a highly practical outdoor course with a relaxed and supportive atmosphere.

Expect a combination of short theory sessions, hands-on activities, navigation exercises and a short afternoon bushwalk to practice our newly learnt skills.

Scott Poad is an experienced outdoor leader, bushwalking guide and educator with more than 25 years spent exploring and navigating wild places across Australia. As the founder of Rewild, Scott is passionate about helping people build confidence, resilience and a deeper connection to nature through practical outdoor skills and adventure-based learning.

With decades of experience leading groups through remote environments, Scott has developed a strong reputation for his calm leadership, practical teaching style and deep knowledge of wilderness navigation. He has worked professionally as an outdoor leader and bushwalking guide for over two decades, navigating diverse terrain ranging from dense rainforest and rugged mountain country to remote off-track wilderness areas.

Scott has also been the lead navigator for multiple adventure racing teams, where accurate route finding, terrain interpretation and decision making under pressure are critical. His real-world navigation experience extends far beyond classroom theory, bringing a practical and highly applied approach to every course he teaches.

In addition to guiding and expedition leadership, Scott works as a Bushwalking Trainer and Assessor with Klepper Training Academy, helping develop the next generation of outdoor leaders and bushwalking professionals.

Through Rewild, Scott combines traditional navigation skills, bushcraft, outdoor education and adventure to inspire people to move beyond technology, trust their instincts and confidently explore the natural world.
