School Holiday Program

Do the kids go a little wild over the School holidays?

Send them to our ReWild School Holiday Workshops, WILD 1 and WILD 2 for a unique day of fun and adventure in the bush.

Our School Holiday workshops are designed especially for kids. They will learn wilderness survival skills, reconnect with nature and have a heap of fun at the same time!

What we do during the workshops.

Kids gone wild, Navigation and Orienteering adventure

A brand new School Holiday event, promising the same fun and excitement as Wild 1 and Wild 2 but covering new skills.

With the rise in GPS technology the art of reading a map and using a compass is rapidly diminishing.

Navigation is not just about the map and compass, it's more about having an awareness of the surrounding landscape  and the ability to read the land.

It's a great way to teach the interconnectedness we have with the environment around us.

Participants will need to navigate to find a number of checkpoint markers located throughout our property, each of which has a unique hole punch which is used to verify that particular checkpoint has been found.

*Suitable for kids aged 7 - 14 yrs

Wild 2 - Thursday

This workshop is all about life skills as opposed to "survival skills". We discover a range of skills used daily by ancestral people from all over the world.

We cover topic's including:-

  • primitive hunting, trapping and animal tracking methods

We'll try to trap and release fish, eel's and yabbies from the river

  • look at bird traps, snares and a range of traditional weapons used worldwide by our ancestors

Spear making activity - your child will be given a comprehensive knife safety lesson. They then harvest, de-bark, sharpen and then fire harden their very own spear to keep (if it's ok with parents that is ;))
*No live traps other than catch and release fish traps are used during the day, so no harm whatsoever is done to local fauna.

*Suitable for kids aged 7 - 14 yrs
